“Tabi Tabi Po” is an art show dedicated to celebrating Filipino folklore through urban contemporary art. The Kapre, Manananggal, Dwende, Tikbalang, and Aswang are just a sampling of these haunting creatures that will be brought to life in this exhibit. A percentage of the art sales will be donated to the victims of typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng through BAYAN Philippines and BALSA (Bayanihan para sa Sambayanan).
The curator, James “gaNyan” Garcia, has put together a killer lineup that includes Filipino artists from the US, Philippines, and even Norway.

Since the Bay Area has the largest population of Filipinos in America to date, Garcia and 1:AM gallery invite all to come celebrate and learn more about the colorful traditions of the Filipino culture and help raise money for the typhoon victims.
The month long event includes:
-Opening Reception: Nov 13th from 7-10:30pm
-Bindlestiff Puppet Show: Dec 5 from 5:30-8pm
-Closing Reception: Dec 12th from 6-9pm

post ondoy, this is a simple design initiative started by my sister in new york. but now its getting the light of day not only in nyc, but also in london and canada and getting some press in manila too…oh actually more than that, here in manila, analog soul is printing the shirts! :D i’m so proud of my sister who started something that is beyond her now. its cause everyone believes in Love. don’t you want to wear it on your sleeves too? ♡♡♡♥♥♥
